<jats:p>This large population-based study confirms lymphoma as the leading cause of death in patients with mycosis fungoides/Sézary syndrome (MF/SS), particularly those with severe disease. Patients with MF/SS also had higher mortality from infections, although the absolute infection-related mortality was low. Mortality from other explored causes was not elevated compared with the general population. Patients with mild MF/SS had significantly better outcomes, highlighting the heterogeneity of the disease.</jats:p>
