What was studied

A prospective, multicountry, open-label postmarketing study evaluated a dual‑applicator cryolipolysis system (CoolSculpting Elite) in adults treated to the midsection (abdomen/flanks), with optional treatment to upper arms, thighs, and submental area; the primary end point was midsection satisfaction at 12 weeks after final treatment.

Key findings

At 12 weeks after the final session, 83.3% (80/96) of evaluable participants reported being satisfied/very satisfied with midsection results.

Study limitations

Single‑arm, nonrandomized design without a control group; 3D volumetric assessments had large variability and potential positioning/clothing effects; free treatment and small samples for non‑midsection areas may bias satisfaction and limit generalizability.

Clinical implications

For adults seeking noninvasive midsection fat reduction, dual‑applicator cryolipolysis achieved high satisfaction at 12 weeks, with device‑related adverse effects in 4.5% (5/110), all mild and resolved. Findings are consistent with prior cryolipolysis studies.
